Burning Dog Media, the team behind BigWorld Indie-Powered Origins of Malu, just let out a release on their current state of development.

Detailed is what they have recently accomplished, as well as their aspirations for the near future. A full list of their updates is below.

  • PAX with Alienware – While we had a bumpy start, we bounced back to successfully share a small sneak peak of our game.
  • Popular Voice Client Integration – Can’t reveal too much yet but let us just say we are stoked!
  • Growing Family – Our once humble team of a few is now growing to a big family from visionaries all over.
  • New Site – While not a major redesign, it will let us keep you up to date on the latest news faster.
  • New Community Manager – Because of growing demand, we have added a new community manager to partner up with our current CM (Darkis).
  • Bigger Social Media-  lots planned for pumping up our social media presence as well as getting that all important publicity.
  • Fresh New Engine – Awesome results to be announced.
  • New Screenshots – We are spending lots of time on our swamp region. Will release new screenshots of our inky marshes soon!
  • In-depth Walkthrough of Housing – what’s, how’s, and why you will want to build.
  • Announcing a Solid Beta Date – the heart of our love and labor and why we took a small step back from the date until now.

We’ll be excited to start seeing some of these announcements coming into fruition soon.

Wargaming.net just recently released a new plethora of content for the Japanese aircraft in the upcoming BigWorld-Powered World of Warplanes.

Among this new content is the Japanese Tech Tree for the game, showing the aircraft tier progressions.

“The first tier plane of the Japanese World of Warplanes tree will be a light fighter, the Nakajima Type 91.  It’s followed by nine naval fighters from the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service.  The legendary A6M2 Zero is represented, as well as an unusually designed fast interceptor, the Mitsubishi J4M1 Senden, and three types of Kyushu J7W fighters.”

Also added were new renders of Japanese planes, as well as some screenshots of them in action.

Wargaming’s official release on the matter can be seen here, and be sure to check out the Japanese aircraft teaser video while you’re at it.

BigWorld-Powered “Moego”: Cats

Monday, May 16th, 2011, posted by Matt

from the kitty cat man dept.

Continuing our exclusive coverage of the recently-announced, BigWorld-Powered, Userjoy MMO “Moego,” it’s on to the cat pet. It’s becoming increasingly clear, with each passing video, that the order of things in Moego tend toward: player joins/creates family, recruits various animal castles, which then release pets of the same animal type out of the gigantic building on their back. It looks like the animals and animal castles come out to fight… but, what we can say for sure is that this little guy carries a pipe and/or large ladle… which endears him to us greatly.

In Moego, once players have joined or created families, they are able to begin recruiting and raising pets. These furry little cuties, whose titles include “crispy sheep” and “fancy raccoon,” act as your personal posse, laying down adorable pain on your adversaries. Each pet is upgradable, and also has a unique crafting and item upgrade ability, so progression through the game will largely depend on your pet platoon.

MOEGO is a “community-centered free-to-play MMORPG,” with all the expected accoutrement, as well as some very unique offerings in the MMO space. These include family groups, “animal castles,” pet armies, and a few others.
